\nyou know the words to my favorite song
\nwe talk til 3am on a humid night in june
\nthey say i’ve fallen but i don’t know
\nit’s more like losing altitude
\ni close my eyes and i can hear you speak
\nyour pause, your hesitation
\n6am the phone rings and i pray it’s you
\npay for 6 days and the sunday paper is free
\nit’s only the daily news
\ni asked moma if i could keep you
\nshe said, only if you’d agree to stay
\nlove is a two-way street “dear girl” she offered
\nas your gravitational pull lures me
\nand has me fearlessly obeying
\nyour honey-suckle lips pursed in passion
\nand what they desire to do to me.<\/p>\n
